But now that I've started using the Light Primer I can tell a huge difference. It does not dry out my skin but keeps it from getting so oily and shiney that my makeup melts off. I first read about this in one of my daughter's fashion magazines and thought I would try it so I ordered it. I was seriously considering buying a bar of this soap, but I was given a free sample of it first. I'm a bit grateful for that, because now I am not sure whether I will spend the money to actually purchase more. The soap is not yellow with a brown honeycomb as it in the picture. The piece I received is a pale brown color; it rather looks like a piece of toffee. It smells like toffee, as well. It doesn't smell quite as delicious as I'd hoped. That being said, it does lather quite well and the smell stays on your hands for hours.

I live in the UK and have loved this soap ever since Lush first started selling it. I have an impaired sense of smell but can *just* pick up the fragrance of this product, which is wonderful. I was delighted when I found that it was available in the USA through Amazon as I was able to send some to a very dear friend to whom I'd raved about it; now she understands :o)



I find that it often comes in awkwardly-sized chunks, but it's soft enough to cut into more manageable pieces. That way you can hide a bit of it away from the children it's far too good for them!

I have always had very oily skin and my skin usually turned shiny within a half hour in this hot Texas weather. This power keep my face totally matte all day. I have worn it for 11 hours and at the end of the day my face only gets slightly dewy looking.

It has a very good consistency and blends pretty well. It covers dark circles pretty well and on blemishes it makes them vanish. The only thing is that the medium shade is too dark and the light shade is too light, for my skin tone, and in order not to look like I am wearing a mask, I need to blend both to get my shade. But overall it is a very good product, if ever they make a shade in between it would be perfect.

This is the best and most important product to use on my face. I wear before my foundation and my face is flawless. I have sensitive acne prone skin and this does not make it worse, it does not clog my pores and feels like powder when I apply. This helps hide the little imperfections like my pores, small lines around my mouth, bumps, etc. It's hard to explain, you have to try it. A little goes a long way. I LOVE IT!!!

I am a pretty big primer fan, so I have tried everything from Dior, Philosophy, to Lancome, etc. and this is by far the best! At first I was hesitant because I haven't been a huge fan of smashbox for a long time (besides their brow tech!), but I tried it as soon as I heard about it and it's REALLY THE BEST. The texture is unlike any primer I have ever used, which is usually a bit thick and smells funny. There is absolutely no fragrance to the clear one (i'm not sure about the color correctors) and it goes on so smooth that is really feels like it could be a moisturizer instead of a primer! You also only have to wait around 1 minute before applying makeup, unlike other primers where you have to wait 10 min. or else your makeup gets cakey. This really makes my skin look like "porcelain" as my friends say!

My skin never has been and never will be smooth and unblemished and even-toned. And the older I get (40s now), the worse it seems to get. OK, so maybe I haven't taken the best care of my skin over the years; I do things I shouldn't, and don't do the things I should.



Which is why I decided to finally check out a foundation primer.



I've tried a few different products - Clinique's Sheer Matteness, DHC's Velvet Skin Coat and, most recently, Laura Mercier's Foundation Primer. But I like the Smashbox product the best.



My skin is oily t-zone, so dryish on the cheeks and forehead and prone to oiliness throughout the day along the nose and chin. The Smashbox product has been the best at keeping my skin evenly "normal" for the longest time, and my foundation absolutely goes on more smoothly with it than without. I like the silky feel. I use the "clear" color.



The Mercier product, in particular, left my face too greasy-feeling, no matter how little I used. The Clinique product kinda got clogged up in my pores by the end of the day.



I'd absolutely recommend the Smashbox foundation primer to anyone.

Ok, I LOVE this product....It does wonders for "not so perfect skin." I have "normal" skin. Not perfect, but not terrible. It occasionally gets oily, and then occasionally is very dry. I love this because when I use it, I feel like one of those celebrities that look like they have flawless, airbrushed skin. It really does do wonders.



However, I can't really recommend this product. I love it, but there is something out there that does the same exact job this does, for less $$$. Philosophy's The Present Clear Skin Perfector is the same exact thing in my opinion, being that I have used both. It is cheaper and you get more in the tube. I would check out The Present before buying this. Philosophy products always do it better!!!



But if you're hooked to the Smashbox name and don't mind paying a little extra, get this product! You'll love it!

This can be used before foundation or even if you don't use foundation, I use it as I have quite oily skin and it regulates that, and even makes your wrinkles (if you have them!) much less pronounced. The feel of your skin after using this is amazing, so silky smooth.
