 "TRY IT!" 2009-05-02
By golfnutx2 (MI USA)
I used Bare Escentuals for several years, then switched to Smashbox Halo because I was looking "cakey". Halo was fine for a bit but started to look too matte for me (I like a dewey look). I have never been a fan of any kind of liquid/cream/stick foundation (hate the sticky feel on the face) but since I wasn't happy w/mineral foundations anymore decided to try this oil-free tinted foundation. Why oil free: I have sensitive skin and there's a short questionnaire on Laura Mercier's website that recommends type of product and color to purchase.

The questionnaire recommended two shades from which to select. I opted for the darker shade (always go darker rather than lighter when in doubt) but it came with a sample of the lighter shade which I thought was smart! Tried both and really, a combo of the two would be perfect for me (thus the 4 starts rather than 5) but using the darker shade is what I will stick with.

It provides great coverage for a tint! I was amazed and I don't have perfect skin (some fine red veins from rosacea). Some reviewers said it went on dry. Before I purchased I called the company and asked about the dry complaints; they said to apply it a little at a time covering small areas. I have normal skin and it was not dry at all. I tried doing larger areas and that's where I encountered problems.

I am very pleased with this product and will definitely purchase again. If you have normal-dry skin I'd mix it with a little of your moisturizer but still put it on in small doses. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by this product.

Oh, and by the way, when you finish applying it it will not look dewey, but wait a half-hour or so (Halo was like this, too) and you will see a beautiful finish and a glowing complexion. I definitely recommend this product but they need more shades.

 "Product great--Packaging SHAMEFUL" 2009-04-10
By NYC Mom (NYC)
I recently ordered a refill as I didn't have time to go to Sephora. My little tube came in a box 30X its size and stuffed with a bunch of styrofoam peanuts.

Come on!

This is shameful. No way will I reorder this online. Laura Mercier (the merchant in this case) really needs to become more ecoconscious ASAP.

 "Seriously Oil Free!!" 2009-03-17
By Pamela Valentine (Hot as hell South Texas!!)
I have oily skin and had a heck of a time trying to find a moisturizer/sunscreen that wouldn't leave my face looking like a grease pit.

Luckily i found it in Laura Mercier's Tinted oil free.

It works like a charm, dosen't leave me looking shiny or oily at all and protects your face from sun.

Better yet it has the sheerest hint of color that will dress you up when you dont feel like putting on an entire face.

And say the morning after a long night out, you can even layer it for additional coverage on the under-eye circles.

Its not heavy or thick feeling on your face either.

Would I recommend this to someone...a best friend or family member, maybe? Definitely.

It was a life (face?) saver and I will be back for more; it is also on my "Top 10 products I can't SURVIVE without" list.

Its an ace of a product and is absolutely worth every penny.

Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

"Good product with several drawbacks. " 2009-03-14

I'm mystified that they call this tinted moisturizer because I've used regular foundations that were more sheer than this stuff. Having said that this is a fairly nice product with a few drawbacks. One, it's very expensive. Two, it's not very blendable. I have to put regular moisturizer underneath this stuff to get it to go on evenly and smoothly. It is also feels somewhat greasy (like suntan lotion). I set it with Laura Mercier loose powder and it looks fine .... but is it worth $42 a tube? That's debatable. I think I'll try other tinted moisturizers before buying this one again.

 "Good tinted moisturizer." 2008-12-24
By Geraldine G. Tandoc
After reading all the raves about Laura Mercier TM, I decided to finally try it. First off I recieved the package pretty quick and intact. My purchase came with a bunch of free samples which I thought was pretty neat. Now for the tinted moisturizer.. I haven't tried too many TMs so I can't really compare.. but this moisturizer is alright. I purchased it in Nude and it turned out to be too dark on me. That or the color oxidized? later in the day. You might need to purchase two different colors to get the right shade (which is pretty expensive). It does delivery buildable coverage like a foundation almost. I think the Oil-free one (the one I have) is not as thick as the regular one however so the coverage is more sheer. To get to the point, I think this is a good, high end tinted moisturizer and I probably would like it a lot more if it was my shade.
