"This is the greatest mineral powder!" 2008-11-30
By S. Mckenna (Billerica, MA United States)
I have tried several brands of mineral powder, and always come back to this one, Youngblood. It is very light, but offers so much coverage. It is all I use for coverage, yet it hides eye bags and age spots nicely. Still, it is quite light. I originally discovered this product at the dermotologist's office. When I was pregnant and having some skin troubles, this is what they offered through their office. I'm glad I can buy it online now!

 "Outstanding product!" 2008-07-20
By S. Golden (FPO, AE United States)
I've been using the Youngblood pressed powder for over two years now, and I absolutly love it. My old makeup would create many breakouts all over my face! This makeup is so light, I really forget its there, it evens out my complexion and looks great all day! Youngblood has a customer for life!

 "Pearl Anyone?" 2008-04-29
By L. Morgan (Texas)
I love Youngblood loose mineral powder foundation and have always wanted a pressed version, as it would be much less messy and much easier to transport, but the only Youngblood shade that matches my skin, pearl, is not available in the pressed form. I really wish they would create this for us pale people.

 "very light" 2008-01-08

It's very airy and light.

Best thing to do before application is to cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize your skin or else the uneven texture shows. Other than that, it's sooo smooth and friendly to the skin.

 "Youngblood pressed foundation" 2007-11-06
By L. Erickson
I am a guru of makeup. Having tried Arbonne, Jane Iredale and several other mineral makeups, I found that the Youngblood mineral makeup works the best for me. It doesn't get oily like the others - goes on light but at the same time - has great coverage - and seems to last throughout the day. I would give this makeup at least 5 stars!

"more cosmetics should offer sampler packs" 2009-03-21
By T (New York)
very helpful to see the actual shades of the make-up and powders before committing to the full size. The only thing is that some of the shades of the liquid mineral are not in the sampler packs, there is a description of conmplimentary shades but I'm still between two shades, not sure which one would be best.

 "So So" 2008-10-30
By Farra Fennell
I felt like the price for just a few small samples in baggies was kind of high (especially with shipping), but I had heard a lot about Youngblood makeup and wanted to try it before spending $36 on a foundation I hadn't tried. It gave pretty good coverage, but made me look very shiny. I have oily skin, so I don't need any help in the shine department. I would recommend this for people with skin that is more normal to dry.

 "Younblood Sample" 2007-07-19
By A. Probasco
This sampling gives a pretty good idea of the products. There were some extras included that I wasn't expecting (rice powder and blush), but I thought the color choices for the foundations didn't give enough range. I found most of them too dark for my light skin and I know the brand has better colors.

"Wonderful product, very little samples to work with!" 2007-05-14
By layavb (Grand Rapids, MI United States)
First of all, let me say that they got this item to me really, really quickly (2 business days), especially considering that I am in MI and the item came from southern CA. My only complaint is that the bags that the samples come in are really, really small (around 2.5x1.5 in) and they weren't anywhere near as full as in the pictures. I estimate that each bag contained around 1/4 tsp of powder, maybe less... not very much to work with. Another thing is, if you look at the choices in colors, there are 16 of them. They group the samples as "light to medium", "medium to dark" and "dark". Since they have 16 shades in all, I expected to receive more than 4 different colors when I chose "light to medium", but I guess that's my fault since the picture only shows 6 bags, which includes the blush and the rice powder. I'm just wondering if maybe there is a color in there that might have suited me more, but was not included in the sample. (Incidentally, if you search "youngblood sampler", there is another item worth $6.50 which is listed. Looks like the same item, except that the colors that are included in the sampler are enumerated.) Having said all this, I think I will end up buying one of the shades which were included in my sampler since it seems to have blended into my skin pretty well! The powder itself is just really fine, smooth and silky. I just hope I will love it when I actually have enough powder to cover my face with! Will just add a comment when I receive and use the full size!

 "Safe Cosmetic Campaign" 2008-06-08
By M. DeFelice
With the mercury in mascara and lead in lipstick scare, I decided it was time to make the change to eco-friendly and safe cosmetics. I didn't know where to begin, but then I found a great website called Go Green Mart and More; all products on the site have been scrutinized and found to be safe for me and the environment. Go Green Mart led me to Youngblood, and I easily made my purchase through Amazon.

It's my first experience with a mineral foundation, whether liquid or powder. I chose the loose powder foundation to see what all the fuss was about. Because of the infomercials I've seen of related products I was skeptical; however, I was pleasently surprised! Youngblood goes on light and silky and it more than covers. I think covers is an understatement; it brings life to the skin. As I go about my busy day and make periodic mirror checks I am pleasently amazed to see bright, healthy looking skin. My skin looks alive no matter how tired or stressed I may feel, having a positive psycological affect on me; I smile at the mirror.

The only negative, which is incidental, every day I've got to wash the residue from the sink no matter how gently and carefully I apply the loose powder. Hardly worth mentioning. Youngblood mineral foundation is my new best friend - along with Go Green Mart and More, together shopping green is simplified.

 "WONDERFUL!" 2008-04-27
By L. Morgan (Texas)
This mineral makeup is great for people with problematic skin. I have a few skin disorders that create redness, dryness, and reactions to the sun and heat. When applied in the appropriate manner and after well-dried moisturizer, this product (which is the only I have found with a shade light enough for my skin) covers beautifully and locks in moisture while still allowing my skin to breathe. I usually don't apply the powder to my nose, the one oily area of my face, but when I apply a finishing powder after the mineral powder, it covers my nose. I can't use the rice setting powder from Youngblood though, as it is too drying, but this mineral foundation is wonderful!

"Great coverage, easy to use" 2008-03-26
By KAR
I've used Youngblood Loose Mineral Foundation since 2005, when it was applied to my face at a spa at the suggestion of the makeup artist. I had never used mineral powder before. I was surprised by the excellent coverage the mineral powder provided, superior even to cream foundation. Sun spots and age spots disappear under the Youngblood Loose Mineral Foundation, and it takes less than a minute to apply. My only complaint is that the mineral powder does not last all day. But then again reapplication takes less than a minute.

"Mentioned in WWD Beauty August 2007 IT list for Mineral makeup" 2008-01-20
By lean_bot (Orange County, CA)
This is a good product my focus are on the following:

-quality-it is light weight and feels good on my skin. The foundation easily transferred product from my face to paperwork when used alone. ie. no setting powder was used.

-coverage-supplemented with a MAC cream based concealer to cover the areas that needed extra coverage ie acne spots

-shiny face-very oily compared to when I was using Bare Minerals. Currently, experimenting with using the Bare Mineral Veil after applying YB Minerals to cut down on the shine and makeup transfers from face to paperwork.

-storeage of minerals after each application-I place the minerals on the lid of the container prior to application. I have a problem storing the minerals that I didn't use. This is not a problem in the BM line. I expected more from this container since I paid $35 dollars for a package that is approx the width of an 16.9 FL oz bottle of water and the height of the number 2# pencil.

This should be a 4 rating but I bumped up to a 5 since it is parabens-free and Propylene Glycol-free.

 "GORGEOUS finish!" 2008-01-02
By Beverly Reynolds (New Mexico)
I use this makeup every day and I am hooked! It looks so natural, and I get TONS of compliments on my skin (which isn't that great without makeup) when I wear it. :) Youngblood is unlike any traditional foundation I've tried, including some "other" mineral makeup brands! Forget Bare Escentuals and all those other ones--Youngblood is pharmaceutical grade and milled finer, thus giving it a MUCH better finish. I love that you don't have to mix your own colors--there are tons of shades to choose from, and you can always go up or down a shade and still look natural. I also love the fact that it has natural SPF and no harsh chemicals. (Since your skin absorbs 90% of what you put on it, the more natural, the better!) It doesn't feel like it's clogging my pores and I've worn it during workouts with no adverse effects--yay!

I will say that the application does take some getting used to if you've never used a loose mineral makeup before, but once you master it the results are amazing. I made a list of the steps I find most useful in applying Youngblood's loose mineral makeup:

1. ALWAYS use moisturizer approximately 10 minutes beforehand--if you don't, the brush may feel harsh or worse, you'll get a "powdery" look!

2. Use a bit of concealer on problem areas before applying foundation--it makes it look more natural.

3. Use the Ultimate Foundation Brush (preferred--expensive but worth it) or a kabuki brush (not nearly as effective) for the best results.

4. Put less product than you think you need on the brush and TAP it on the side of the container to shake off any excess. Less is more!

5. Using firm pressure, start towards the outside of the face and work your way in (to avoid using too much product on your cheeks, which looks horrible). Use the brush in a CIRCULAR motion to ensure best blending.

I would HIGHLY recommend this makeup if you have fairly normal skin. If you have extremely oily or dry skin, this may not be the product for you. Oily skin may still maintain some shine after using this product, so I'd recommend Youngblood's pressed mineral foundation instead. Dry skin may not absorb product as well, so I'd recommend Youngblood's liquid foundation for that. I've tried all of the Youngblood foundations and found the loose best suited for my skin type, but you may find that one of the others is better for you.
