"Ok to mix with foundation, not good on its own" 2009-05-31
By Kelley
This works well if you use it sparingly - either mix it with a fuller-coverage foundation or spot apply on your cheekbones. It is too shiny and oily to use on its own as a tinted moisturizer.

 "Great product!" 2008-08-30
By Jennifer (Chicago, IL)
I've been using this for a few weeks and I'm very impressed by it. It looks very natural and does a great job of evening out the skin tone. It definitely makes the skin look radiant. The only issue I have with it is that it can settle into the pores. I have to use the primer underneath to prevent my pores from showing too much. It also works great when I mix it with my LM oil free foundation. It adds a little bit of 'brightness' to ordinary foundation without being too sparkly.

 "amazing from the start!" 2009-04-30
By Risa B. Polokoff (Atlanta, GA)
Perfect for everyday use! I was looking for something that would protect my skin from sun damage while also giving me a flawless finish and I wasn't even expecting the product to be THIS great! A lady in the store sold me on it and I was hooked! I highly recommend this product to everyone who wants some moisture, spf, and a perfect finish with no necessary makeup! I use it everyday and feels so great on my skin!

"Love it! Love it! Love it!" 2008-11-17
By Kat (San Francisco, CA)
There are very few makeup products that I would bother reviewing, simply because my skin reacts differently with the product after a few months, I get bored with the colors or makeup type, etc. However, this is the first product that I not only loved the instant I got it - but still loved after reordering and using the second bottle!

MD Skincare All-In-One Tinted Moisturizer makes life a lot easier for me (a mom of an 11-month old with one on the way!). I don't have much time in the morning to put on a huge amount of makeup, so All-In-One type makeups are the best. This product not only moisturizes my skin, but it also an SPF 15 sunscreen, and it makes my skin look matte for most of the day! I probably would use some additional powder for a most dressed up look - but for everyday use, this along with Nars blush, a dab of eye shadow and lip gloss gives me a clean, refreshed look. During the summer, I usually put on a higher SPF sunscreen underneath this foundation without any ill effects.

There's only two problems I have with this foundation:

1) I have sensitive eyes, and very occasionally I will put some too close to my eyes which will result in a "makeup headache", but that's more user error than anything.

2) This is pretty pricey for the amount you get (one bottle lasts roughly 7 months for me with 1 1/2 pumps per day). However, I have tried other cheaper alternatives for kicks and ended up returning them all - none of the cheaper alternatives could hide my blemishes and give me a clean matte look like this product.

This a very pleasant, easy "all in one" skin care, sun screen, and make up product. This is really all you need to make a fast start in the morning.

"All day moisture; dewy glow!" 2006-01-04
By Ahu T. NYC (New York, NY United States)
This is a true moisturizer with the added benefit of a skin-smoothing tint and sun protection. Do not be fooled by the popular brand name "moisture tints" or other so-called tinted moisturizers out there. None of them deliver the moisture (especially during dry winter weather) that MD gives you. It's also self-adjusting for year-round comfort; not at all oily during the summer for my difficult combination skin. I always get compliments on my "perfect" skin whenever I wear this and now can't live without it.

 "TRY IT!" 2009-05-02
By golfnutx2 (MI USA)
I used Bare Escentuals for several years, then switched to Smashbox Halo because I was looking "cakey". Halo was fine for a bit but started to look too matte for me (I like a dewey look). I have never been a fan of any kind of liquid/cream/stick foundation (hate the sticky feel on the face) but since I wasn't happy w/mineral foundations anymore decided to try this oil-free tinted foundation. Why oil free: I have sensitive skin and there's a short questionnaire on Laura Mercier's website that recommends type of product and color to purchase.

The questionnaire recommended two shades from which to select. I opted for the darker shade (always go darker rather than lighter when in doubt) but it came with a sample of the lighter shade which I thought was smart! Tried both and really, a combo of the two would be perfect for me (thus the 4 starts rather than 5) but using the darker shade is what I will stick with.

It provides great coverage for a tint! I was amazed and I don't have perfect skin (some fine red veins from rosacea). Some reviewers said it went on dry. Before I purchased I called the company and asked about the dry complaints; they said to apply it a little at a time covering small areas. I have normal skin and it was not dry at all. I tried doing larger areas and that's where I encountered problems.

I am very pleased with this product and will definitely purchase again. If you have normal-dry skin I'd mix it with a little of your moisturizer but still put it on in small doses. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by this product.

Oh, and by the way, when you finish applying it it will not look dewey, but wait a half-hour or so (Halo was like this, too) and you will see a beautiful finish and a glowing complexion. I definitely recommend this product but they need more shades.

 "Product great--Packaging SHAMEFUL" 2009-04-10
By NYC Mom (NYC)
I recently ordered a refill as I didn't have time to go to Sephora. My little tube came in a box 30X its size and stuffed with a bunch of styrofoam peanuts.

Come on!

This is shameful. No way will I reorder this online. Laura Mercier (the merchant in this case) really needs to become more ecoconscious ASAP.

 "Seriously Oil Free!!" 2009-03-17
By Pamela Valentine (Hot as hell South Texas!!)
I have oily skin and had a heck of a time trying to find a moisturizer/sunscreen that wouldn't leave my face looking like a grease pit.

Luckily i found it in Laura Mercier's Tinted oil free.

It works like a charm, dosen't leave me looking shiny or oily at all and protects your face from sun.

Better yet it has the sheerest hint of color that will dress you up when you dont feel like putting on an entire face.

And say the morning after a long night out, you can even layer it for additional coverage on the under-eye circles.

Its not heavy or thick feeling on your face either.

Would I recommend this to someone...a best friend or family member, maybe? Definitely.

It was a life (face?) saver and I will be back for more; it is also on my "Top 10 products I can't SURVIVE without" list.

Its an ace of a product and is absolutely worth every penny.

Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

"Good product with several drawbacks. " 2009-03-14
By playsindirt (Saint Charles, MO USA)
I'm mystified that they call this tinted moisturizer because I've used regular foundations that were more sheer than this stuff. Having said that this is a fairly nice product with a few drawbacks. One, it's very expensive. Two, it's not very blendable. I have to put regular moisturizer underneath this stuff to get it to go on evenly and smoothly. It is also feels somewhat greasy (like suntan lotion). I set it with Laura Mercier loose powder and it looks fine .... but is it worth $42 a tube? That's debatable. I think I'll try other tinted moisturizers before buying this one again.

 "Good tinted moisturizer." 2008-12-24
By Geraldine G. Tandoc
After reading all the raves about Laura Mercier TM, I decided to finally try it. First off I recieved the package pretty quick and intact. My purchase came with a bunch of free samples which I thought was pretty neat. Now for the tinted moisturizer.. I haven't tried too many TMs so I can't really compare.. but this moisturizer is alright. I purchased it in Nude and it turned out to be too dark on me. That or the color oxidized? later in the day. You might need to purchase two different colors to get the right shade (which is pretty expensive). It does delivery buildable coverage like a foundation almost. I think the Oil-free one (the one I have) is not as thick as the regular one however so the coverage is more sheer. To get to the point, I think this is a good, high end tinted moisturizer and I probably would like it a lot more if it was my shade.

"Not a great choice for sensitive skin or older skin" 2009-08-30
By Christy Pinheiro EA ABA (www.ChristyPinheiro.com, http://selfpublishingreview.blogspot.com)
I tried this as an alternative to Bare Minerals on days where I didn't want a full face of make-up. Here's what I found:

Pros: Light coverage (as promised), good moisturizer, and I felt that the color choices were true-to-life.

Cons: I got some skin irritation when I got too close to my eyes-- you can't really use it near your eyes or on your under-eye circles, which adds an extra step since you have to bother with concealer. I also feel that the color did not last all day-- more like 1/2 a day. Plus, it's expensive for the amount of product you recieve. You might just do better purchasing a super-hydrating foundation and applying it lighter with a cosmetic sponge.

Conclusion: Reccomended only as good buy for younger skin without a lot of coverage issues.

 "Pretty Good" 2009-05-27

I love the way this feels on my skin. I only gave it 4 stars because the shade I purchased is a little too dark for me. I plan on trying the lighter shade.

"sheer, light coverage, but not very moisturizing" 2009-05-08
By Picky college student (MA, USA)
Pro:

color - I have light asian/yellow complexion. I tried the moisturizer in sand. The color literally melts into my skin.

coverage - It is very sheer. It does not cover the red spots on my face, only diminishes it and evens out minor unevenness.

Con:

consistency - it does not feel like a moisturizer. Instead of slippery, it feels a little watery, therefore difficult to blend and must be applied a little at a time. It is good for my combination skin or in the summer and does not look greasy. I would recommend a moisturizer underneath for dry skin and I think it works for oily/combination skin.

wear - it is not long lasting. I put it on in the morning, and 4 hrs later when I wiped my mouth, the tint wiped off. If you never touch your face, then this shouldn't be a problem.

"I NEED more stars for this one!" 2009-02-13
By Lovin' Livin' (Fort Wayne, IN)
I LOVE this product. I am of a certain age and require lots of moisture for my skin which is also of a certain age! I have tried and loved mineral makeups in the past. With the years, I have noticed the mineral makeups remain in my "laugh" lines! I received this product as a sample and tried it. It is fabulous - goes on easily, moisturizes without feeling greasy, and creates a finished look. It does not, however, give a lot of coverage (luckily, I don't really need that), so if you're looking for something to cover up flaws, this may not be what you want. It is a wonderful product, though, if you just want a touch of color and moisturizer at the same time. Try it, you'll love it!!!

 "This worked for me" 2009-01-28
By Yvette Bernard-williams (fla usa)
I love the Laura Mercier tinted face cream. I used the tan and it was wonderful. The coverage is light and it is very easy to apply.

I am not a fan of foundation and I can rarely find one to match my skin tone so I tend to wear foundation only in the evening. At age 46 I think I need a little evening out of my facial skin tone in the bright light of day. This is perfect, the tan works well for me and my skin looks so much better. It doesn't look done but rather fresh and "even toned" I recommend it highly. My only query is whether the SPF is really broad spectrum or if sunscreen should be worn under the product.

My package came without the product. Was a little hard getting Sephora by email. I went through Amazon to complain and then got a Sephora agent Dan. He was helpful and the p'lem was corrected quickly.I am glad I did not ask for a refund. I will definitely be buying this again.
